    Educating Your Customers
One of the biggest marketing mistakes businesses make today is failing to educate their prospects and customers about the unique advantages that are being offered to them. The cornerstone of any marketing plan should be to educate your customers. You should first educate them about your product or service, and your company. Then you need to educate th

    PR When Managers Take Control
Things can change fast!Tactics will probably no longer dominate the public relations plan. Instead, when needed, they’ll hopefully assume their properly limited role as the primary means for moving a publicity message from one point to another. But in their place, at the top of an organization’s public relations effort, professional bus
Often blogs die a slow death. The blogger loses interest maybe due to not having enough traffic or due to not being able to make money from his blog. You always hear the hype in the media about blogging and how to earn thousands of dollars a month from a blogs seems to be hot air to those bloggers that are giving up blogging. I do not think that is necessary. I consider my own blog as maybe average. I do get between 200 and 300 unique visitors per day, but that number is slowly growing and so I must be doing a few things right. So far I am not getting rich of my own blog and the money I make a month pays for a nice dinner with my wife once a month, but I am not blogging to become rich from it anyway. If that would change I would certainly not mind, but chances are that I might just be an average blogger with an average income from my blog.

There are a few ways to improve a blog's success. Here are a few things I changed or better - things I am doing and it seems to have brought the blog from 100 unique visitors a day to the current 200/300 a day. One thing a blogger should consider is the number of blog updates. To attract an audience to your blog one weekly update is certainly not enough unless the blogger is writing about some special niche topics that will find their audience no matter what. Try to write daily or even better, update your blog several times daily. Split larger postings topic-wise into several smaller postings. Each posting to your blog sends out blog pings which in return drives the search engines back to your site more frequently. And as we all know, search engines love fresh and unique content.

A blog post should provide value. Become an expert on something. Nobody cares really about your normal life unless you are a celebrity already. People read blogs to find something unique. They want to read about stuff they do not find somewhere else or that helps them to improve their business or skills or personal life. Something that makes an impact to them is of interest.

Sales Training Tip #15; Stay on Topic

    Is 'Sales Profession' an Oxymoron?
When you hear somebody say, “that Joe is quite a sales guy,” it is usually not intended as a compliment. Sales professionals have even been depicted as shady in children’s cartoons. They are typically saying that Joe is a fast-talking, glad-handing, person who can make you want something that you have heretofore had no need for, and will find no need for

However as more and more people read blogs via RSS readers this can fire back at you. If you are already at the top it is easier to not publish a full RSS feed, but when you are starting our or scrambling to build a recurring audience a full RSS feed is your better choice. My blog shows most visitors are coming thru from RSS feeds and that shows me that the content is of interest.

Build an audience and slowly position yourself. Build a brand name of some sort. You do not need to be mentioned in the New York Times or Time Magazine to be recognized as a successful blogger. But word will eventually spread in your field of expertise and that can create a lot of traffic to your blog.
