My experience has taught me that when I look outside myself for an answer, I usually get it – but it is often not the best one for me at the time. I have also learned that when I search for answers (advice/counsel/help) from others, I am usually given what that person thinks I need from their perspective – rather than what life wants me to learn.
The only way to find safe and reliable counsel is to rely on yourself. Go inside for the answers to those burning relentless questions that often keep you from getting a good night sleep.

When you look inside you need to understand that your intuition, consciousness, soul, inner guidance system or whatever is not going to necessarily give you answers in the manner to which you are accustomed.
It may send you a subtle signal, or a flash of insight, or a dim recognition, or any number of signs.
The key is to pay attention. It is difficult to pay attention or correctly interpret these signs if you: are letting your ego run your life, you are so stressed that you can’t think straight, you are overloading your body with food, liquor, drugs or any other stimulant, or you are looking for particular answers. You cannot manipulate truth – you can deny it, ignore it, disagree with it, but you can’t act as though it doesn’t exist.
Learn to listen more from the inside-out and less from the outside-in, and you may find yourself finally on a peaceful path through life.
