    Pure Hoodia
The South African Research Institute, CSIR, started a study on Hoodia Gordonii, a succulent growing wild in the Kalahari Desert. This plant has a reputation amongst the San tribe as a hunger suppressant. They chew this plant during their long hunting expeditions to prevent hunger. CSIR isolated the active molecule, named it P 57 and patented it in 1997. They sold the rights to a British company, Phytopharm, in 1998 to test and market the product. In a double blind test, conducted by Phytopharm, 400 mg per day of Hoodia Gordonii powder, for 15 days, reduced the calorie intake by 1,000 compared to the control group. Capsules, pills, tincture and diet gum all followed. This obviously includes genuine as well fly-by-night operators. The only thing that they could not do is to claim that their product is an aid for weight loss. That would be a patent violation. So they market it as a food supplement.Phytopharm teamed with Pfizer of USA, a pharmaceutical MNC, to produce P 57 synthetically and market the same. But in 2004 Pfizer withdrew from the agreement, as it was not economically viable. One of the companies marketing the Hoodia capsule is ‘Pure Hoodia’, with a registered trademark. They claim that each capsule contains 400 mg of Pure Hoodia Gordonii, imported legally from South Africa, grown in privately owned farms. The recommended dose is 1-2 capsules an hour before each meal. They make no claim that it is a drug, but say that it is an all-natural dietary supplement.Truth Publishing, a website for independent consumer guidance, came out with a strong accusation against Pure Hoodia. They claim that tests done on Pure Hoodia by “Alkanist pharmaceuticals,” could not confirm the identity of H

Let us take a moment, and imagine a totally gray world, without black or white, without colors or shadings, just gray. Gray down, gray up, gray in front, and even gray at sides. Actually, how would we know what’s up or where is down? Gray doesn’t have nuances of shadings or contrast, no brightness or darkness, but a monotonous unity throughout space. First thing we’re going to feel would be a static nature, total motionlessness. No warmth or chilliness, no emotions or perspective. Hence, such a space will have no emotion affect on us as spectators, not even depression as one might think. If we would spend a long time in a gray space, we would actually loose our consciousness, our emotional lives and our experience and thinking ability. There’s no life here, no light or darkness, only a state of motionlessness and lifelessness. Fortunately, that is not our world.

Now, let us step out of that gray world, and step into a totally different world. A new world with light and darkness, with the entire rainbow spectrum, including all shadings, with contrast of warmth and cold, light and heavy, bright and dark, up and down, with motion and depth, and most important- with life. When we come back to our world, we restore our distinguishability and consciousness, the ability to feel and experience, and of course the ability to think.

So how exactly that miracle is accruing, in a world that is colored with all rainbow colors where life exists with all its might, in contrast with a colorless and lifeless world? After all, we usually take the color in our world for granted, excluding sympathy or antipathy we hold for one color or the other. To answer that, and in order to find how the world of color truly affects us so significantly, we will take one color at a time, and try to ponder about it:

Red- Hot tempered color Walking into a Red room, we’ll feel as if we’re getting warmer. Blood will rush faster and stronger throughout our body, our pulse will rise and our heart will pound stronger. At some stage we will feel the Red space closing onto us, making it difficult to breath.

Emotional aspect- we would feel frightened and scared, as if being attacked by something, wanting to run for our lives or kneel down to plea a prayer. Spiritual aspect- it could be said that the color of Red warm us, accelerates the bloodstream, opens blockages in body, soul and spiritual level, teaching us to kneel down and pray for the divine. Red color motion is in the strong presence it exhibits.

    Blue’s cold nature
And now, let’s walk into a room painted all Blue, and stay there for a while. Here as well, we would start feeling unusual physiological sensations. Slowly chillness will penetrate our bones, we would shiver and cramp, blood will flow slower, and we will find ourselves shrunk in a corner, frozen. Emotional aspect- we would feel detached and lonely, as if we’re alone in the world, shut inside a sealed envelope, while sadness permeates into our soul. Blue color’s motion is of introversion and convergence, wrapping up from outside, darker at the edges and brighter at the center. That is why when looking at it, it will always retract away from us.

Spiritual aspect- Blue introduced awareness of perspective to humanity, close and far, creating a space which will prevent claustrophobe feeling, but will provide a coat by the darker chrome at the edges. Building Your Ideal Practice: Freedom to Be Creative with What is Inside You
So many people tell me that they could never do anything other than meet with clients. They could not imagine having any products to offer others.Well, as Henry Ford has said "Whether you believe you can or believe you can't, you are right."A powerful working definition of creativityHere is a powerful working definition of creativity that I require all of my members and mentees to adopt:"Creativity is simply looking at something that has always been there and seeing something that has never been seen before."Think on that one for a little while. Creativity is simply looking at something that has always been there and seeing something that has never been seen before.Be careful of arguing for your limitationsAuthor Richard Bach has said "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they are yours."What this means for us is to not limit ourselves in how many ways we can successfully build our practices. You may have heard me say this before -"If you can write a 7 item grocery list, you can write an article." And then an article can become a free report, an e-course, an e-book, a presentation, a CD and/or DVD series, etc.We have opportunity to work once and get paid, get paid, get paid, get paid..................And if that is not something worth celebrating, I don't know what is!

Circles & Spirals: The Center of a Yoga /Qigong Practice
This morning, walking up the hill near my house, to see the mountains, what I noticed was how the sky was filled with the kind of clouds that (I believe!) are particular to this sort of geography: places where large & extensive mountain ranges fall off into plains. They’re the kind of clouds (I don’t know their official name) that are perfectly smooth flat spheres, that look like soft-white flying saucers … Because of the specific atmospheric conditions of the morning, then, dozens of these inflated communion-wafers were flowing over the lip of the mountains. And the sight of this ~ along with simply delighting me! ~ brought to mind this whole topic of the role of circles and spirals in yoga/qigong practice …Every yoga/qigong practitioner at some point discovers that circular or spiraling movements (of body and mind) tend to augment and circulate (in a useful way) their energy (life-force, qi, prana), while more linear or perpendicular movements tend to result in a decrease, stagnation or leakage of energy. This principal is put into action in a very explicit way in the practice of Aikido. Here, the energy of an opponent’s “attack,” instead of being directly resisted (a perpendicular action), is received into a circling/spiraling movement (the “orbit” of the practitioner) which simply re-directs that force into a counter-attack, i.e. the energy of one’s opponent’s attack is used “against” them. (At higher levels of the practice, the entire thing is seen to be a kind of “dance,” in which the notions of “for” and “against,” as well as “self” and “other,” become quite transparent and, ultimately, disappear.)So why is this the case? Why do circular/spiraling movements nourish u

Private Practice Marketing - How to Play Large in Private Practice
How many of you have heard, like I did when I was first started out, 'Man, you get into private practice and it is so hard, and it is so much competition, and you'll never make it'? We've all heard that one. There are many, many people, and some of yomay believe this, 'There are just too many people in my niche; there is just too many folks for me to make it.' OK, that's part of what the mindset is not.The other part of the mindset, interestingly enough, another part that it is not, is that in order to play large, you do not have to be famous, you do not have to be well known in your niche, in the relationship, you do not have to be a John Gray, or a John Gottman, or any of those folks, OK?It's not becoming a name, becoming well known, or a celebrity or something. So those are the three things that it's not: It's not limited thinking, it's not believing that there are too many people in your niche, it's not believing that you have to become a big name, it is just a mindset game, it is all about willingness.Willingness to play large can be considered, perhaps, a question that you've never considered before. You don't need to be born a certain way, in a certain place, with a certain name, to play large.Instead of the traditional one-to-one, one-to-one, one-to-one, day after day, take a one-to-many approach and how many folks can we reach with our message. That is part of playing large, being able to reach more and more people. And who knows, maybe somebody may become the next most known person. But you don't have to do that in order to play large. So we talked about what the mindset is not, we talked about what the mindset is. The next step is how to install the mindset.<

    Dazzling Yellow
Imagine us entering the same room, only now it is all painted in a strong Lemon Yellow. Instinctive feeling would be of bedazzlement. We would’ve liked to wear sunglasses, but there’s nothing like that in the Yellow room, and meanwhile Yellow gives its share. It radiates powerfully at us, nerve endings become irritated and our eyes start tearing, blood will rush to help the nerves calling out for help, muscles and joints will gain momentum from the oxygen rich blood, bringing to a rushed internal body activity, in an effort to cope with the strong light. Emotional aspect- Yellow awakens, rejoices, opens, illuminates. It could bring to hysteria on a prolonged exposure.

Spiritual aspect- Yellow color is the light penetrating the darkness, light of thought. Yellow’s motion is of radiating from inside out, in straight lines as color pales on edges, opposite to the Blue color motion. When it is external, it radiates at us like sunlight motion and comes forward, being the last color seen as darkness falls at sunset. Yellow’s radiation brings us back to ourselves, hence we gain a sense of “I”.

These are the three basic colors, Red, Blue and Yellow. The three have radiating character. Combining between them creates all rainbow colors and their shadings.

Green - created by combining Blue and Yellow
Green has in it a blending of different colorful powers. Introvert Blue wraps, and Yellow radiates inside out, introvert and extrovert. They both become balanced in Green, which we can see mainly in the vegetative world. Ninety nine shadings of Green are known, from bluish Green to yellowish Green. Green doesn’t have Yellow’s irritability and hysteria, nor does it have Blue’s melancholic sadness and extreme cold. With this balance it creates a slow motion, inducing peacefulness. Green has something of passiveness.

Purple- created by combining Red and Blue
Purple is the sound of silence, creating a quiet and dignifying environment, bringing us closer to higher domains.

Physical aspect- good for therapy. A sore throat or pain will be alleviated with a Purple silk handkerchief. Purple’s brightness relaxes and supports meditative frame of mind, and when it is too dark it can evoke fear. It is considered to be an older people color, so it will be better not to expose young children to it, whether in clothing or within the space which they grow up in. Purple has a lot of darkness warmth, and some of light’s chilliness. On the physical level Purple is a liberating color. It brings something from the future, generating serious feeling and respect. It is the color we see in sacred places, priests clothing is Purple, sacred article wear Purple velvet. It is definitely a color which generates in us a memory of something bigger than us, and a sense of responsibility to the spiritual world, which is somet
