People are sometimes like the coalmines. Occasionally, you meet a person who is rough cut with irregular facets, misshapen ideas, and tender feelings. That person may have a heart of gold on the inside that would sparkle and shine with some Tender Loving Care and Coaching. But if you dig at the person with heavy equipment, chipping away at the very core of existence, and shred the person with no comprehension of the value in your hands, you scar that valuable life beyond repair and damage the heart.
In life, you may find yourself occasionally being the miner, and occasionally being mined. Either can be a Diamond in the Rough.
Do you choose to see life as “Acres of Diamonds” or as a Scarred Piece of Land?
I choose to see life as Acres of Diamonds, and as I look out my window, or across the yards this winter, I will remember the “Acres of Diamonds” that I encounter every day.
I love diamonds, either the sparkling variety or the rough cut variety. Both have a purpose in my life.
